If you’re considering SKK GSB, you’re probably asking the same questions I asked: Will I actually grow here? Will I feel supported? And what does the experience really feel like? SKK GSB has a specific rhythm: fast, collaborative, and very international. A lot of the learning happens in the day to day moments, not only in class. Here’s my honest student perspective to help you picture yourself here and understand what stands out once you’re actually living it.
One of the biggest reasons I chose Sungkyunkwan University is the ability to select a track (finance, marketing, management, AI and business analytics). It makes the MBA feel more intentional as you’re building a path. For me, developing deeper skills in marketing connected my interests to my own career goals. The program gives me structure, but also flexibility to shape classes around the direction we want to grow in.

The program is also project driven, turning theory into action and teaching us how to execute and deliver results. I’ve found that this integrative focus is essential to the learning experience. At the same time, we naturally improved our time management as we were juggling deadlines, meetings, group work, homework and events, we quickly learned how to prioritize, plan realistically, and stay consistent.
Another key reason was the faculty. Our professors are highly prepared, and many bring experience from both inside and outside Korea. The global perspective they bring into the classroom helps us develop a more holistic understanding of what we’re studying. It also creates space to compare and contrast from our own experiences with what we learn on a daily basis, which makes the content feel more real and applicable.
Many of my classmates are international students like me, and I’ve learned a lot through working with them. Coming from different industries and backgrounds means we approach things differently and that has helped me improve my teamwork and communication.
Networking is another important part of the culture at SKK GSB and is needed for our professional growth. Connections and insights are valuable, and I’ve learned in my time here that our community is really big and supportive. Several times a year, we have alumni meetups that bring people together and make it easier to learn from others and build strong relationships.
For me, this MBA is about becoming a stronger version of myself in a global environment. What makes this program the right choice is the combination of direction, hands-on learning, and a supportive network that helps you keep improving beyond the classroom.
